The NIBS Building Seismic Safety Council (BSSC) works to enhance public safety by improving earthquake-resistant design and construction throughout the United States. The council develops nationally-applicable seismic design provisions through the National Earthquake Hazard Reduction Program funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
